The SpiritIT Flow-X series of flow computers is a powerful and versatile automation platform, especially designed for the custody transfer of liquid and gas. It provides different enclosures for panel-mount and field-mount installation.
Hardware and software are certified for the most stringent legal metrology requirements, ensuring that Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) data is accurate, secure and traceable.

Investment protection by a modern, future-proof ABB device. As of January 2021, the Flow-X/M, X/S and X/K are certified for C1D2 and ATEX/IECEx Zone 2, with a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 75°C (-40°F to 167°F) at 5% to 95% humidity. This makes the Flow-X the only certified, high-accuracy flow computer that can be used both in the control room and the field, providing a single, cost-effective solution for all custody transfer applications. Custody transfer is also known as fiscal metering or royalty metering.
The Flow-X/M module is the building block for all SpiritIT flow computer products and enclosures. Each module provides IO and communication ports to accommodate any gas or liquid flow metering system, including high-accuracy 4-20 mA inputs, dual pulse inputs and double chronometry proving. The device is configurable and operable from a touch screen or a web browser over a secure HTTPS link.
The standard application software, available in both metric and US customary units, provides comprehensive and configurable measurement and control functionality, eliminating the need for programming for most installation. Virtually unlimited customization is possible with the complimentary Flow-Xpress software.
The Flow-X is able to control the flow rate, block valves, sampling systems, proving systems, multi-product pipelines (batching) LACT racks and liquid loading and unloading systems, which eliminates the need for an additional PLC or a sampler controller.
The Flow-X seamlessly integrates with the ABB SpiritIT metering supervisory and measurement data management software. I/O per Flow-X/M module
